Job Description: We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client who have a vacancy for a motivated Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, who enjoys leadership, to join their team.
As well as having excellent clinical and mentoring skills, with the ability to perform wide ranging nursing duties from general anaesthesia to nurse consultations, they are looking for someone who is able to lead their nursing team of 11 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 2 ACAs across their 4 sites, promoting excellent clinical standards and supporting professional development of the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, building good relationships across all sites, organising the nursing rota, support the training and development of the nursing team through regular meetings and PDRs, promote and develop nurse consultations, improve clinical nursing standards, perform stock ordering, control and co-ordinating regular stock takes. The practice takes pride in being a RCVS approved Training Practice and many of their current RVNs started as students here.. As Head Nurse you will be expected to support the teams Clinical Coaches and ensure the provision of excellent training for their SVNs.
This role will be predominantly based at their Abergavenny site, however occasional travel to other branches will be required to perform full Head Nurse responsibilities. Previous leadership experience is an advantage, but not essential as training and support will be given.

This is a full time role working on a 6 week rolling rota with a combination of 8 hour shifts between 0800 - 1900 with inclusion on the inpatient night rota (Monday - Friday) and a week off post nights. Frequency of inclusion on the night rota to be discussed directly with candidate.
