An opportunity has arisen for a small animal vet to join a friendly, growing practice in Gateshead.
The practice is located close to the A1 and just a short journey from Newcastle city centre by road or public transport. Newcastle city airport is also within easy travelling distance as are the beautiful beaches of the Northeast and Northumberland coastline.
You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of 2 vets (with over 30 years experience between them), 2 RVN's, experienced support staff and a practice Manager. Special interests include acupuncture and imaging, and they would love to add, and can support, any additional interests their new team member may have.
Knowing that working in veterinary practice and juggling life can be demanding our client works with their team to ensure that they are family friendly and flexible while at the same time ensuring the provision of a high level of patent care and customer service. Regular clinical meeting are held to allow everyone to have their say in how things are done and the workplace they want.
Although they would love to find someone happy with both consults and surgery, a consult only role could be considered. Consult length is 20+ minutes with nurse support. You will enjoy complete clinical freedom and whether you are an experienced vet wishing to focus on a specific interest, a more recent graduate wanting to build a broad range of experience or anything in between - they have the caseload to support this.
The team are able to support recent graduates, overseas vets and those looking to return after an extended break from practice.
The practice can accommodate full (37.5hours/week) or part time hours with 1 in 3 Saturdays (9 – 6pm) and no OOH as this is covered by a local referral hospital. They offer a fully flexible rota to allow for your individual commitments- whether its childcare, a hobby or something else, each of their team members has a personalised rota. Saturdays are consults only and the practice is closed on Sundays. Whilst Saturdays are sole charge there is always someone at the end of the phone to lend advice or support.
