Job Description: An opportunity has arisen for a new veterinary surgeon to become part of a 5 Vet, 3 RVN, 2 SVN and 4 VCA supportive team at a modern and well-equipped Small Animal GP RCVS Accredited practice in South Lanarkshire, with silver awards in both ISFM and RWAF,

Since opening it's doors in 2018 this practice has rapidly established a loyal client base (around 40% dog, 40% cat, 15% Rabbit and 5% mixed between small furries, reptiles and birds). The team have varying levels of experience ad a diverse skill set in anaesthesia, medicine and exotics. There are 3 full time experienced nurses (2 who have 10 + years’ experience and multiple certificates between them) and 2 Student Nurses, who all engage in many schedule 3 duties. They have a dedicated Veterinary care team of 2 full time and 2 part time VCAs assisting the Vets and Nurses as well as providing excellent in-patient care and cover the reception desk. In addition to this there are mixture of volunteers, Vet students on EMS and Nursing students on placement. Colleagues are actively encourages to pursue their areas of interest and also to broaden their horizons and knowledge with a variety of CPD and certificates which are fully funded.

The well equipped premises has full in-house lab facilities (IDEXX Catalyst, Procyte, Snap Pro, UA analyser and the Sedivue), Digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors and individual cat, dog, and isolation/exotics wards.

The practice is located close to the M74 making it an easy commute from Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have good general consulting, surgical and medical skills and have some experience in emergency surgery. You will also be confident working sole charge, as you will be the sole charge vet at weekends on your rota, with the nursing and reception team.

This role can be full or part-time , 16 – 40 Hours per week over a flexible 7-day rota, weekends will be in rotation with other Vets. They can offer and support a wide variety of shift patterns from compressed hours, late starts, split shifts etc. There are no OOH's or on call.

Salary £35,000-£60,000 DOE
