Job Description: We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Suffolk who are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the friendly team at their Mildenhall branch clinic. This opportunity is great for starting your career as a trainee Veterinary Nurse or for an experienced RVN looking to work in a friendly, well organised environment where further study and clinical progression is encouraged.
The team consists of 3 Veterinary Surgeons and 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses with typically one to two vets performing procedures during the day as well as consultations and a consult only vet. The practice has a dedicated cat ward, two operating theatres, tub table, multiparameter monitors and doppler. There is a daily column of nurse consultations covering routine health checks for their pet health club, as well as second vaccinations, post operative check-ups and weight clinics.
The role would be 37.5 hours per week worked over 5 days Monday to Friday. You will be expected to work one on call weekend and one Saturday morning in every 12-week period. A day off in lieu is offered after an on-call weekend and extra pay is claimed during out of hours periods. You will take part in an out of hours rota to help take care of inpatients. This is worked one night in three weeks and involves checks and administering medication to any inpatients as well as helping to work up and stabilise any cases which present late in the day. The phones are sent to a local out of hours emergency provider during the week and for part of the weekend.
