Job Description: An opportunity has arisen for a new colleague to join the warm and friendly team at a hospital practice in Brighton.

You will be joining a 20 + strong team of vets which includes multiple certificate holders and colleagues with a huge range of clinical interests and expertise, including referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics. The role is 100% exotics caseload during the week, but you will have to see some dogs and cats at the weekend. The exotics caseload is varied, with a lot of small mammals and reptiles, birds, and the occasional amphibian and fish. the practice works closely with the local reptile RSPCA centre, which is a great opportunity to practice with a wide range of reptile species. Their exotics team is composed of 2 vets and 2-3 nurses. There is a separate ward with walk in kennels for rabbits, and vivariums and the team benefit from all the equipment needed for small mammals’ dentistry, ventilator, rigid endoscope, etc… as well as CT, ultrasound, and x-rays.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with most routine procedures (rabbit and small mammal neutering), and comfortable with the handling and medicine of various species. Our client is looking for someone with strong communication skills, able to provide excellent care to their exotic's patients, as well as delivering outstanding customer care. They are ideally looking for a certificate holder, but candidates with equivalent experience will be considered.

You would work an average of 40 hours per week, including 4 days per week rotating through with the other exotic vets on inpatients, theatre and consultations, and 1:5 full weekends with the following Monday off.
