Job Title: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Region: East Anglia
County: Suffolk
Profession: Veterinary Surgeon
Category: Small Animal
Position: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Job Description: Our client, a small animal group on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk, are currently looking for a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their talented team across 3 RCVS accredited branches.
At their Bury St Edmunds branch they have a team of 4 - 5 vets and 5 - 6 nurses and their branches in Thetford and Mildenhall each have a team of 3 vets and 4 nurses.
All 3 branches have plenty for you to explore in your downtime, being surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to the coast with Norwich and Cambridge nearby for fun days (or nights) out.
The practice is open to an experienced vet but would also be happy to support a less experienced candidate who wants to build up their confidence in surgery, as this will be key to the role.
If interested in a full-time position this would consist of a 4 day/36-hour week, however our client is amenable to part-time and flexible working for the right candidate.
The weekend and OOH rota equate to working one first on call and one second on call weekends (8.30am - 5pm only) in every 10 - 12-week cycle, there is no on call during the week, but you would have a night of inpatient duty every 2 weeks. Accommodation is available in a flat above the Burry St Edmunds branch during on call if not already in use.
Included in the package on offer:
Salary in range £32,000-£60,000 DOE, and you will be well reimbursed with extra pay for out-of-hours work and second-on-call weekend duties
Generous £1750 CPD allowance
RCVS VDS fees paid
6.6 weeks paid holiday (including Bank Holidays)
Health Shield – wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments, from dentistry to sports massage
Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, and surrogacy pay
Discounted veterinary fees
Cycle to Work scheme
Company sick pay
Annual pay reviews
Focus on employee wellbeing
