Job Description: 4 vet mixed practice in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in need of locum cover from June - ongoing, ideally someone with mixed animal experience but can consider a small animal only locum also.. The practice is 60% small animal, 30% large (crofters sheep and cattle as opposed to large farms), 10% equine. Weekday opening hours are 9am - 5,.30pm, and at the weekend the practice is open 10am - 4pm on Saturdays for emergencies only. The weekend and OOH's rota is equally shared, if small animal only another vet will be on back up call for any large animal call outs. They have accommodation (2 self-contained houses) available and will supply a practice vehicle. Pets are welcome! How to get there? The main ferry to Lewis is from Ullapool on the mainland, which takes approximately 2 hours 45 minutes, flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Stornoway take approximately 1 hour and from Inverness approximately 45 minutes. The practice is IR35 exempt so sole traders, limited companies and those using an umbrella company are all welcome.
