Job Description: A rare and exciting opportunity to join the friendly, professional team at a well-equipped standalone surgery in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate , close to the Yorkshire Dales and consistently voted one of the happiest places to live in the UK.

This thriving practice was established in 2004 and has a current team size of 3 vets, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN, 4 client care advisors, practice manager. The team benefit from strong leadership and have very fair and competent managers- you’ll always have your rota well in advance and a well-managed diary with time to think built in. They love to develop their team, with further qualifications being encouraged for everyone, whether clinical or leadership based. Students are supported with high quality veterinary EMS and nurse training placements, and the practice foster a no blame culture at all levels to constantly learn and improve. The team perform all first opinion surgeries to a high standard in an actively patient safety led culture, driven and supported by a strong nurse team. Peripatetic cardiology and orthopaedic services are used to keep the more complex cases under their care, and encourage case continuity and relationship building.

As the position is due to growth compressed hours or unconventional shift patterns can be considered. The practice is busy enough to keep a certificate holder entertained or support someone in their postgraduate studies, and small enough to provide great support for a less experienced colleague starting their career.

This role is part time, 17 hours per week working 3 evening shifts and an 8 hour Friday, but anyone that wanted to work more would be enthusiastically appreciated. There is no OOH requirement.

The ability to work in a sole charge capacity would be welcomed. Graduates will be supported with back up for as long as they need it.
