Job Description: Due to retirement of two of their senior vets our client currently has an opportunity available for a full time veterinary surgeon to join the team at their five branch group in beautiful Dorset with a long history and fantastic reputation.
This long established practice, dating back to the 1930's with a reputation of trust, quality and personal service has a large and experienced team of 18 full and part time vets across their 5 branches. Their retention of vets is high - the team having a combined 150 years at this practice!!
You will be encouraged and supported to find your own niche within the practice in a collaborative atmosphere led by advanced practitioners, certificate holders and approachable team leader. New ideas and innovations are embraced with the practice offering special services that their staff have wanted to develop.
Their full time vets work a 4 day week with a fixed day off each week,. The only weekend work is Saturday mornings, 8.30am - 12.30pm which are shared equally by all their vets and are no more often than 1 in 3 (currently closer to 1 in 4). Full time hours equate to an average of 40 hours including Saturday morning duties. flexible and part time working is both encouraged and supported so you can continue to enjoy being a vet whilst balancing other time commitments. The practice is host to an OOH provider so there are no OOH's but you also have the benefit of 24/7 onsite care for your patients and if on occasion you are keen to follow through emergency procedures after your normal hours finish a surcharge on the procedure will be paid directly to you for staying late.
The great package on offer with this role includes:
A salary range of £30,000 - £55,000 (pro rata and DOE), new grad's welcome
£1750 / 5 days CPD allowance, and further allowances available to pursue a post graduate qualification
RCVS, VDS and one other membership fees paid
Free of charge procedures and services for your own pets and cost price on drugs
Initially 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays increasing up to 6 weeks with longer service award
Fully paid sickness absence for 2 weeks and then half pay for 2 weeks
8 weeks full maternity pay, 12 weeks half pay PLUS a one of payment on return to work of 5% annual salary
