Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon - £36,000 - £50,000

Region: North West

County: Cumbria

Profession: Veterinary Surgeon

Category: Small Animal

Position: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Ongoing

Job Description: Exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic and caring small animal vet to join the amazing team at a 100% small animal practice in Cumbria.

Our client currently has an opportunity available for an experienced small animal vet to expand their clinical team in a practice keen to keep key clinical skills in Primary Care Practice. The practice runs several in-house healthcare plans which, unlike the majority of schemes, provides both routine (preventative) and non-routine (accident and illness) care for member animals. To service these schemes it is vital that they maintain a team of veterinary surgeons who share their desire to develop and maintain a broad range of clinical and surgical skills within the practice.

The usual diagnostic aids are available (digital x-ray, both standard and dental units, ultrasound, video-endoscope, in-house clinical biochemistry) which will allow you to investigate your patient’s problems and then to guide the owner through the various clinical and surgical options

Their ideal candidate will be a compassionate and caring vet who is a good communicator and is keen on developing long term relationships with clients and their pets. They are looking for someone who is a team player but also able to act on their own judgement and make decisions when needed.

The practice does do their own out of hours but being a small practice this is not onerous and will be worked on a 1 in 4 rota. The rota is set with consistent days and duty nights and a long weekend every month, however all staff are flexible about swapping days off when needed.

The package on offer includes:
Salary DOE and hours worked - FTE £36,000 - £50,000 (can accommodate a working week between 20 - 35 hours)
Generous CPD - further study to certificate level encouraged and funded
5 weeks paid leave (plus bank holidays)
RCVS feed paid and one veterinary subscription paid for.
Cycle to work
Healthshield Policy
Pension
