Region: Channel Islands
County: Guernsey
Profession: Veterinary Surgeon
Category: Small Animal
Position: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

Job Description: Join the team at a thriving small animal practice located in the beautiful island of Guernsey! Our client is currently seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their dedicated team of professionals.
Guernsey is a stunningly beautiful island with a rich history and a vibrant community. It offers a high standard of living, beautiful beaches, fantastic cliff views and great outdoor pursuits and a close-knit community of animal lovers.
Here you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of small animals, providing gold standard care and building lasting relationships with clients.
The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including a high-end ultrasound, CT scanner, facilities for fluoroscopy and endoscopy and the team pride ourselves on offering the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a group of highly skilled and specialized veterinarians including advanced practitioners, in areas such as orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine, imaging, cardiology, dermatology and ophthalmology. Further, they have colleagues with special interest in pain management and acupuncture, and aim to be the first certified ZERO PAIN clinic. This creates a fantastic learning environment where you can expand your knowledge and skills in various areas of veterinary medicine.
Another unique aspect of this practice is their pet wellbeing centre 20 minutes away, which offers physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services to their patients providing an additional avenue for comprehensive care ensuring the best possible outcomes.
To be considered for this role, candidates should have solid prior experience as a veterinary surgeon. They are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing excellent care, have strong communication skills, and are committed to continuous professional development.
The role will be full time, 45 hours a week including an hours’ lunch break. Out of hours is shared across the team and phones are answered by their nurses. The practice is fast paced, so whilst they would not be in a position to support a new graduate, they can consider a second-year graduate or a “consult” only vet for the role, if that is your preference.
Understanding that relocation can be a big step, in addition to a competitive benefits packaging including a salary between £55,000 - £75,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience, our client also offer a generous relocation allowance to help make the transition as smooth as possible and sponsorship opportunities for the right candidate, allowing you to further develop your career and pursue additional qualifications.
