Job Description: We are currently recruiting for a practice who have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team due to an expanding workload and maternity leave.
This role would suit an enthusiastic Farm Veterinary Surgeon looking to work across all farm species and who enjoys being part of a great team. New ideas and initiatives are supported and encouraged.
Based in Elkington, Northamptonshire with additional branches in Lutterworth and Broughton Astley the practice covers Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, and the surrounding area, but with the majority of its client base within 30mins of the practice. There are great motorway and rail links to Birmingham, London and Leicester city centres. The overall area is semi-rural with many vibrant towns such as Market Harborough, Lutterworth and Broughton Astley. With good schools and plenty of activities as well as providing some great places to eat, drink and unwind. All this and the ability to escape off the beaten track and enjoy scenic walks and outdoor activities. The area is also surrounded my many small villages with strong communities offering something for everyone.
You will be joining a truly fantastic team of 7 farm vets, a VetTech and farm administrators. Within the team there is a wide range of interests and experience, including a CertAVP holder and another studying towards their certificate. The dedicated farm team sits alongside the much larger small animal team, offering an active social calendar and strong family feel.
As a practice they are focused on driving farm efficiency, preventative medicine, and animal health. Their aim is to provide farmers with the best clinical and advisory services to maximise the health and productivity of their livestock, alongside competitively priced medicines and specialist services, TB testing and export work. They have active flock and beef clubs, with a small holder’s club launching soon.
A full-time role will consist of a 5 day/40-hour week (hours negotiable for the right candidate) and equally shared out of hours with a 1 in 7 rota and back up during the busier spring months and rime off in lieu following on call weekends.

Competitive salary dependent on experience, from £32,000 plus vehicle for new grads to £38,500+ for more experience.
