Job Description: An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic vet to join the team at a small animal practice in Biggleswade. The practice benefits from being adjacent to the A1, located just 40 minutes from the historic city of Cambridge and offers easy access to Luton Airport and direct train links into central London.
You will be joining a supportive team made up of 4 vets (2 full time and 2 part time), 2 RVNs, 1 SVN and 4 receptionists. The practice partner graduated 10 years ago from The RVC and has a surgery certificate. He is keen for his team to progress within their careers and strongly encourages additional learning, with one vet currently studying a certificate in ophthalmology and another in cardiology. Regular CPD is encouraged, and individual interests supported. The practice sees a wide range of surgical cases, including thoracic and occasional orthopaedic cases. The current team is split with 50% surgical bias and 50% medical.
The practice itself is air conditioned and purpose built with state of the rt facilities including tonometry, ultrasound and x-rays.
The successful applicant will have good general surgical and medical skills and enjoy building relationships with patients, clients and colleagues. You will need to be confident with some sole charge responsibility and enjoy the variety provided by clients and colleagues.
The role can be either full or part time, working 27 – 38 hours per week, and weekends on a rota basis. There is no OOH requirement with this role.
