Job Description: We are currently working with a client in South Wales who have a fantastic opportunity available for a New Graduate Vet to join their friendly and experienced team in a role where you will be provided with a real work-life balance and career potential.

Located in a beautiful part of the country near the Brecon Beacons National Park and with great transport links to Bristol and Cardiff in 45 minutes and 2.5 hours to London, the practice is spread across 4 well equipped, RCVS accredited sites and has a varied and interesting caseload. They have 13 vets , including 3 GDP mentors and certificate holders in Surgery, Medicine and Radiology, as well as a visiting Cardiologist - meaning there is excellent case support when required and great learning opportunities. They have all the usual facilities that you would expect, and all branches have ultrasound, digital x-ray and blood analysers. Very little is referred, although full clinical freedom is given where this is required.24 hour care is available Monday - Friday ay their main site, ensuring their vets are able to provide fantastic patient care and really learn from their cases.

The team are experienced in helping New Graduates start their professional career (and the interview process will involve being able to discuss the role with one of their vets who joined the practice as a new graduate in 2020). There is a Practice culture of case discussions among colleagues, with questions encouraged. The rota is designed to ensure an experienced Vet will always be available, so New Graduates can develop their confidence and own surgical case load. The induction process is tailored to each individual graduate, as no two people are the same. Your caseload will be built to allow you to become a confident and happy first opinion vet, focusing not only on clinical skills, but how to communicate with clients, decision making and case reviews.

Full time vets work a 4 day week, 1:5 Saturdays and weeknight inpatient only on-call rota. There is a dedicated night shift nurse on-site overnight, so Vets are only called when necessary and full support from experienced Vets will be available. Emergency calls out-of-hours are covered by an external out-of-hours provider. Inpatients are transferred Saturday afternoon, so there is no Saturday evening, Sunday, or Bank Holiday work. This rota gives a great opportunity for you to be able to follow cases through to learn and develop, while still allowing plenty of free time away from work. The rota is designed with set breaks throughout the day for phone calls/case research. You will experience a great mix of consulting and operating, both at the hospital and at Branches. Sole charge will not be required until you have the necessary skills and confidence.

Included in the package on offer:
CPD: Graduate scheme for the first 2 years , then £1750 / 5 days per annum
28 days holiday including bank holidays
Option to buy and sell holiday
