Job Description: An opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the team at a busy, first opinion small animal practice in Blackwood in the heart of the South Wales Valleys.

The practice is located just a few minutes walk from the bustling town centre and just a few minutes drive from the Welsh countryside with its rolling mountains, rivers, castles, forests and lakes. They are one of very few exotics vets in the area. As well as routine surgeries and clinics they also do more complex surgeries such as orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries (trauma and non-trauma) and echocardiography. The practices sees a large number of pets for medical and surgical treatment including dogs, cats, rabbits as well as small mammals like hamsters, rats and guinea pigs and more exotic exotics like sugar gliders, skunks, hedgehogs, reptiles and birds (including birds of prey).

The practice is open 7 days a week, 9am - 7pm on week days and 9am - 6pm on Saturday and Sundays. Their vets usually work 4 days a week and work 1 weekend in 3 or 4. There are no OOH's.
