Job Description: Opportunity available for an enthusiastic small animal vet to join the team at a busy, 9 vet mixed practice located one hour south of Edinburgh. The branch being part of a wider team within the Scottish Borders and Northumberland and catering for both large and small animals as well as hosting their out of hours provider.
On the small animal side, the practice sees a varied first opinion case load, mostly cats, dogs and rabbits. They offer 15 minute appointments for routine things, 30 minutes for euthanasia's/blood sampling etc. Opportunities to consult and operate are equally shared between the team.
Here you will find a really strong team ethos, with an active social committee who organise everything from cinema outings to zip-lining to stand-up paddle boarding. You will have the support of an experienced and friendly team of vets, most of whom have been with the practice for a minimum of 4 years.
A usual working day would be 8.30am - 6pm (8am start on an operating day) with their last consulting appointment 5.30pm. Weekends are on a 1:3 rota, 8am - 12pm, sole charge working alongside an experienced nurse and reception team. There are no OOH's although as they are a host practice for their OOH's provider there are occasionally opportunities to cover shifts for the OOH team if you would like to.
The package on offer includes:
Salary dependant on experience and between £32,000 - £50,000 for full time hours.
