Job Title: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Full or Part Time
Region: Yorkshire and Humber
County: South Yorkshire
Profession: Veterinary Surgeon
Category: Small Animal
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Job Description: An opportunity has arisen for one, or potentially two, Veterinary Surgeons to join the expanding team at a growing small animal practice located on the outskirts of the vibrant, cultural centre of Sheffield and within easy reach of the Peak District National Park.
This first opinion, RCVS accredited practice with 4 experienced vets working to 2.5 FTE, 4 RVN's and several supporting student VN's have worked hard over the last 10 years to build up a loyal client base and are looking for a happy, positive vet to work alongside their close, friendly team. They offer an appointment only service for both vets and nurses, with 15 - 30 minute appointments, allowing plenty of time for more complicated cases and try to fit in regular tea breaks together whenever possible.
The bright, spacious surgery is purpose built and boasts state of the art equipment including a dedicated operating theatre, separate dog and cat wards, an in-house laboratory, Doppler ultrasound, digital x-ray and dentistry facilities. An interest in orthopaedic surgery would work well, being able to take on all the current orthopaedic caseload from their parapatetic surgeon, however this most definitely isn't essential.
If looking for full time hours, you will work a 4 day week with the same full weekday off each week, plus a Saturday only rota, and no OOH or inpatient responsibilities. they would however also happily welcome part time applicants wanting any number of hours per week as many of their staff already work happily in this way.
On offer is a supportive working environment together with career development opportunities and an excellent package that includes a competitive salary, contributory pension, paid professional subscriptions and exclusive discounts and rewards. There is a generous CPD allowance and they will actively encourage the opportunity to fund and support anyone who is keen to pursue a certificate.
