- Job Description: A position has arisen in the of this Lancashire practices' Small Animal Department for a full time experienced Small Animal Vet. As long as someone is happy to cover their 1 in 8 on call rota they are flexible with how many hours / days you wish to work.
The salary is negotiable dependent on experience.
The practicce have 3 small animal surgeries with facilities that allow for good case work up and include a state of the art DR digital x-ray machine with cloud based image storage, ECG, flexible endoscope, ultrasound scanner, tonometer, infusion pumps and a well-equipped lab including an electrolyte analyser.
This practice is proud to still offer their own out of hours service however understand how this can impact on vets and do ensure on call is kept to a minimum and vets have the following 24 hours off after being on call. The believe that providing in-house OOH care not only gives their clients a better service, but also increases case exposure to their vets. Thus allowing them to build experience and confidence in dealing with emergency and critical care patients. Their week-end rota is approx 1.5 in 8 with time off in-lieu:
On-call Friday / Work Saturday morning only / Sunday on call
(Monday & Tuesday off in-lieu)
(With a Friday off in-lieu)
Followed by 6 week-ends off
In addition you would be on-call one night a week every other week with the following day off in-lieu.
No telephones, experienced nurse on-call and for recent graduates on-call back-up will be provided.
