We began in 2005 as a recruitment company working exclusively within the veterinary industry.
Our approach is to provide a service that is both professional and friendly and we are proud that this has led us to developing strong and lasting relationships with both candidates and practices alike.
A major factor in our success has been that since inception of the business you have been dealing with the same staff allowing for continuity in all our relationships.
Shona – Director / Vet Recruitment Consultant
After graduating with a BA (Hons) Business studies in 1994, I began career in the recruitment industry.
So how did I make make the change to the Veterinary Recruitment Industry?
In 1997 I saw an advertisement for a job as Recruitment Manager for a new and expanding vet group, Companion Care.
Having always had a love of animals, especially dogs and horses, I decided to apply and much to my joy I got the job! I gained a tremendous insight into the workings of the industry and the challenges within it.
In 1999, I was approached to go into a joint-venture with a partner and this was my first foray into working for myself within the veterinary recruitment industry. This lasted until 2005 when differing views on the direction of the business led me to go it alone!
For three years until 2008 I ran the agency single-handed, balancing business and family commitments, believing that a personal approach with one point of contact was the route to success.
Then in 2008, with the imminent birth of my second child I realised that to develop the business further I needed help! And so I turned to my sister, knowing that she held the same professional values as me.
Jenny – Vet Nurse Recruitment Consultant
And so Jenny joined Vet Connect in 2008.
Coming from a customer service background Jenny realises the importance of providing a personal service to ensure that the placements she makes run smoothly for practice and candidate alike.
Taking time to listen to both her nurses’s and clients' needs she takes extra care to ensure that full information is available to both parties before the booking is made.
Jenny’s popularity amongst the nurses is due to her ability to listen, although I know she also enjoys a good natter!!
